[What do I do / Where can we meet up?]
Art is dust, that persistently settles in the corners of my studio, swept away by design education. For some time now, I have stopped fighting it, letting it connect me, with its translucent layer, with areas, that escape understanding, remaining a discussion without conclusions and established solutions.
Art is seemingly pointless, but, following Marshall Rosenberg, I think that to enrich our lives with elements of fun, self-expression, experiment it is not pointless and that we all dream of getting out of the hamster wheel of productivity for a while. Therefore, when I reach for painting, photography, drawing, illustration, lettering, I allow myself to immerse in it- with no deadline.
The tip of this iceberg you can see [here]
As a self-proclaimed goddaughter of Julio Cortazar and Gertrude Stein, I am an author of short stories, more or less abstract, escaping forms, sometimes relating to the senses and dreams, sometimes commenting on small details of reality.
Recently, I have also been writing more factual articles on topics that I humbly believe I have some idea about, or which are a reflection of my own experiences and research.
You can explore both, short stories notebooks and articles [here].
A designer by education, I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and Warsaw, the faculty of Industrial Design, as well as UX - Psychology of Design at SWPS.
I enthusiastically play my part in the areas of industrial design, illustration, typography, data visualization, visual information systems, craftsmanship, fashion, and film production.
You can see some of the projects I have participated in here: [e-theater], [Map of Polish composers], [PPNT Gdynia].
In 2017, I also designed a wayfinding system for Sopot's SWPS building, which was being renovated at that time.
As an ever-lasting seeker of peace, when the world turned everything upside down in 2020, I reached for the old technique of hand knitting, so inconsistent with the rushed pace we live at. Petricora (mean.: the smell of earth after long-awaited rain), is a brand built in the spirit of slow life and slow fashion, the antithesis of a chain store; I use only natural materials, giving myself time to design details and qualities, that are not achievable in industrial production, and offering the experience of a patient discussion and creation of an outfit item upon request.
Currently, I am also working (slowly and conscientiously) on a mini-collection, supported by my own research on the clothing needs of women who want to remain in opposition to contemporary fashion business.
You can find [here] limited pieces, that come out of my hand ; if you wish to participate in creating something especially for you, please contact me.
As a result of numerous relocations and journeys, I became interested in the minimalist movement; as a 20-year-old I limited the contents of my wardrobe to white tops and black bottoms, which radically reduced the amount of stuff I bought and time I spent on shopping and packing.
A few years later, I also made cuts in the way of eating (vege), and since then I have been exploring topics related to health, conscious care, nutrition, cultivation (permaculture), taste, slow food, and all those quirks that, I have noticed, effectively improve the quality of my life, adding +10 points to awareness.
